Monstera Fruit (Monstera deliciosa) – The Fruit Salad Plant!

Monstera Fruit, also known as the Fruit Salad Plant, is one of nature’s most fascinating tropical delicacies. Covered in hexagonal green scales, this rare fruit reveals soft, creamy white flesh that tastes like a perfect blend of pineapple, banana, and mango.

Why You’ll Like Monstera Fruit:

Incredible Flavor: A natural mix of pineapple, banana, and mango—sweet, tropical, and aromatic.

Creamy Texture: Smooth and luscious, with juicy segments that melt in your mouth.

Rare & Exotic: Grown only in warm, humid regions, and ripens slowly over several days as the scales naturally fall away.

Perfect Ripeness Guide: Never eat before it ripens! Wait until the green scales begin to lift and fall off—revealing soft, fragrant flesh underneath.

Versatile Enjoyment: Scoop out the ripe flesh and enjoy fresh, blended into smoothies, or added to fruit salads for a unique tropical twist.

Each Monstera Fruit is carefully harvested before ripening and packed to ensure it arrives ready to complete its natural ripening process safely at home.

How to enjoy this fruit

A long green fruit covered in small, tightly fitted scales, a little like a green corn cob.

Before you try it

Never force off attached scales or eat firm, unripe flesh: it can irritate your mouth and throat. Stop eating if it feels prickly or causes burning.

Read the ripeness guide before tasting. Enjoy a small portion at a time.

When it’s ready

It ripens in sections, usually from the stem end towards the tip. Wait until the scales fall away by themselves and the exposed white flesh is soft, fragrant and comes away from the central core easily. One ripe section does not mean the whole fruit is ready.

How to eat it

Gently lift away only the fully ripe, exposed flesh with a fork or spoon. Leave covered or resistant sections to ripen further. The flavour is sweet and tropical, often compared with pineapple and banana. Discard the scales and central core.

How to store it

Rest the fruit on a plate indoors, out of direct sunlight. Check it daily. Refrigerate flesh taken from fully ripe sections in a covered container and enjoy soon.
